2023 Subaru Legacy – After three years of sales for three years, it’s finally here! Subaru Legacy is getting an update to be released for the 2023 edition. The new version features a refreshed design as well as the latest driver-assistance technology and will see the Sport trim get the more efficient turbocharged 2.4-liter flat-four engine as the standard.
2023 Subaru Legacy Redesign
The most noticeable modifications are made to the front fascia. the new trim piece inside the grille covers the entire width of the car and connects to the more complex LED headlamps. The grille also has grown in size, and the front bumper is redesigned with fog-lamp housings. At the back, the Legacy remains the same.
Engine
The Sport trim is now equipped with a 250-hp 2.4-liter turbocharged flat-four. It replaces the base engine which was a 182-hp 2.5-liter flat-four. This should bring an extra sporty feel to the Sport trim. The last Sport test we conducted had a sluggish 8.0 seconds to reach 60 mph, whereas the pre-facelift turbocharged models were capable of sprinting through 60 mph in 6.1 seconds. This Sport model is distinguished through a red accent on the grille as well as magnetite gray side mirrors and trunk spoiler in gray, tires of 18, and a black-and-gray two-tone interior that has red stitching. The Sport comes with the features that Subaru calls a “sport-tuned” suspension.
Specs
Like before the Legacy comes with Subaru’s EyeSight suite of driver-assistance technologies including automated emergency brakes, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping aid. Certain models can also include an automatic emergency steering system, that is designed to avoid collisions with objects when speeds are less than 50 miles per hour. Its Touring XT model also gains an extra wide-angle camera, which expands the view field for it to work with the EyeSight system, which works alongside the existing dual-camera configuration.
Interior
Inside the interior, inside, the Sport, as well as the Touring XT, trims gained a standard heated steering wheel with 360-degree rotation and it’s the Touring XT now features Slate Black Nappa leather, with silver stitching, as well as other trimming enhancements. The models that come with the 11.6-inch touchscreen are now available sporting the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities as standard. Subaru states that the infotainment screen features updated controls for climate control, audio as well as other settings.
2023 Subaru Legacy Expected
