2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV – A version with an SUV of the GMC Hummer EV will join the pickup in 2023 in 2024 as a version. It’s smaller in comparison to the pickup, and also less powerful, yet it’s still sporting the same powerful appearance, with its 35-inch tires, the large fenders, as well as an air suspension that allows it to raise six inches. Imagine it as an electronic Jeep Wrangler or Ford Bronco with a larger size and price in a much larger price bracket. The super-loaded Edition 1 model will arrive first and will be finished by Moonshot Green Matte (pictured) priced at $105,595, in line with the launch for the version with pickups. The new electric Hummers aren’t the only options in the market, though since the Rivian R1T SUV and R1T pickup are scheduled to go on sale later this year.
2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV Review
The Hummer SUV may be smaller than the big truck, however, it’s 5 inches higher than the Chevrolet Tahoe. It’s smaller than most three-row SUVs, however, having a shorter length than that of the Land Rover Range Rover. It’s a lot bigger than two-row off-road vehicles, including Bronco and Wrangler. Wrangler as well as the Bronco. The spare tire of a full size that’s attached to the tailgate that swings out with power gives it a similar look and feel to off-roaders. However, it’s not as big. Cargo capacity with rear seats folded up is an impressive 82 cubic feet. That’s similar to the capacity of the Tahoe as well as the capacity of a Suburban with the third and second rows folded. Additionally, there’s storage space under the floor of the load.
All models except the base model which costs $79,995 get four-wheel steering and CrabWalk that can steer the trucks in a diagonal direction, along with Air suspension, and wheels of 22 inches that are wrapped by 35-inch Goodyear All-Terrain tires. General Motors’ Super Cruise hands-free driving technology is included on all Hummers and comes with the option to use a cell phone as a substitute for the key.
The 830-hp models, such as Edition 1 pictured here, come with a three-motor configuration, one motor on one axle on the front and the other motors on the rear, which can take the SUV up to 60 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds as per GMC. They’re not as powerful as the trucks claimed the power of 1000 horsepower, due to their shorter wheelbase needing the use of a smaller battery. A shorter wheelbase makes the SUV have a smaller turn radius, in line with those of the Chevy Bolt EV, GMC states. Even though GMC does not directly state the dimensions of its Hummer SUV’s battery, however, the pickup comes with an array of 24 modules in comparison to the SUV’s 20 modules. In the past in the year when it introduced the known as Ultium battery, GM said the largest version would have 200.0 kWh. It would place the pack of the SUV at around 167.0 kWh. GMC claims 300 miles range, but that’s 50 less than the pickup and the lesser models have the same 625 horsepower and have a range of 250 miles.
The Hummer EVs both have seats for five, as well as removable roof panels which can be put inside the trunk in front. They’re fairly easy to take off as well, which is like those on other models like the Wrangler or Bronco. The interior is filled with big geometric knobs and buttons that include the 12.3-inch gauge cluster that is digital and the 13.4-inch touchscreen. Below the large shifter is a rotary knob that has functions to control CrabWalk as well as the height of the air suspension along with the button that GM claims could be an Easter gift isn’t being discussed just now.
Hummer EV SUVs offer the new feature of trail mapping using the map of my GMC. Drivers can design off-road routes and distances to charging points and also routes that are downloaded to be displayed on an infotainment display. Additionally, there’s an optional Power Station generator that offers the equivalent of 3.0 Kilowatts (kW) of power for 120-volt items such as televisions or power tools or charges other EVs with up to 6.0 4 kW at 244 voltages. While this may sound similar to the Ford F-150’s latest option of 2.4 and 7.2-kW Pro Power onboard generator – primarily due to the fact that GMC also calls the Hummer’s feature “generator”–it’s not an actual generator, but it merely converts batteries’ energy to smaller the voltage of AC power. It’s unique in that these devices aren’t wired into separate outlets, like the F150’s bed however, they are instead plugged into the Hummer’s charging port.
