2023 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet Review
“Passion for driving the Porsche is well-established throughout America.” The United States. Particularly, there is something very special about taking to the roads on an open-top 911 that has a manual transmission that is perfect in this country,” said Porsche Cars North America President and CEO Kjell Gruner. “This is also the perfect time to add another ‘America’ model to our story as we look back on 70 years since the 356 America Roadster and 30 years since the 964 America Roadster.” Its 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America Edition is modeled on the 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet, however, it has been outfitted with specific options and cosmetic upgrades to distinguish it from its normal models. The 53 356 America Roadster inspired the build specifications.
America Edition boasts red, blue, and white coloring along with aesthetic enhancements made to Porsche’s Exclusive Manufaktur. Azure Blue was selected as the main exterior color, and the convertible top was black. The windshield’s surround is Satin Black (this is the first Type-992 that has this unique design). Also, the white wheels that have the Guards Red pinstripe are also an uncommon option by the manufacturer (the previous manufacturer Porsche had white wheels came in 2011’s Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0). On the outside, there are decals made of white with Guards Red Accents that read “America” (the model designation on the rear decklid is a two-tone of white with Guards Red).
The main inner color of this car is black. the hue that was selected as it best accentuates the distinctive Guards Red and Pebble Gray accents of two-tone stitching (Porsche says that the gray color was chosen because the contrast of white was too stark). The standard features include twin-tone stitches on seats and the center console (where “America” is embossed on the armrest) as well as the unique, doorsills that are illuminated (with the words “commemorative”). A second option for the interior includes contrasting stitching on the steering wheel, the shift boot, as well as a Guards Red pattern on the shift lever. Porsche has also made the ignition key color Azure Blue, to go with the color of the car.
The rear-mounted part of the frame is Porsche’s renowned twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-6 engine designed to produce the power of 473 horses and420 pounds of torque. Porsche is offering only its manual gearbox that has 7 speeds as well as the rear-wheel-drive option on this special model to highlight the growing market for driving enthusiasts in the Americas. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) Sport is standard fitment as is Sport Exhaust and the Sport Chrono Package. Options include rear-axle steering as well as Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB).
