2023 Hyundai Accent – Redesigned last year, there’s speculation about the Hyundai Accent will soon be heading out the doors. While compact cars aren’t as popular as we’re in the past The Accent is set to receive a mid-cycle refresh in this 2023 version year. Based on the handful of spy shots we’ve seen, the brand new Accent driving around seems to get a facelift as well as some interesting modifications.
2023 Hyundai Accent Review
While the spy images have been heavily disguised the outside of the new model could have the Accent sporting new fascias for the front and rear which look similar to ones seen at the Elantra. The front of the car could be altered to lower the headlights and incorporate them into an updated, larger grille. On the rear, the taillights seem to have been redesigned and appear to be a bookend for a new design of trunk opening. We don’t have any details about changes in the cabin, however, refreshes generally don’t alter much inside the cabin, aside from maybe some new options for upholstery.
Engine
In the engine compartment, changes are likely to continue. Rumors suggest it is possible that the Accent’s 1.6-liter engine may downsize to 1.5-liter. 1.5-liter and be coupled with mild-hybrid technology. Given that this 1.6-liter engine only made 120 horsepower and 113 lb-ft of torque it is expected that the hybrid technology can boost those numbers. Much to the dismay of some, Hyundai got rid of the manual transmission in its last model its 2022 model. The same will be the situation for the 2023 Accent that is believed to only have the gearbox for the continuously variable transmission. Manual transmissions aren’t quite as popular within the U.S. market, and Hyundai isn’t the only one discontinuing them, since Kia recently ended the manual transmission on the 2022 Soul.
2023 Hyundai Accent Release Date & Price
2023 Accent is rumored to launch in the latter half of 2022 or in early 2023. Although some speculate that this may be the final year for an Accent model, however, even a new design could suggest that the car is likely to last an additional year or two to its life span. However, Hyundai may follow the fashion that other carmakers are following and start to take away its less popular models to allow for more modern and more environmentally-friendly models. After the demise of the automatic transmission, the price of the Accent has risen by almost $1,300. The initial MSRP for the model currently is $17,690.
Due to the anticipated changes in the 2023 version year, the price could increase even more. In that case, we’ll need to determine whether the Accent remains Hyundai’s most affordable model. In the category of a small car, There aren’t many alternatives to this model. There are a few possible rivals, including that the Nissan Versa, Kia Rio, MINI Cooper, Mitsubishi Mirage as well as the Chevrolet Spark.
